Circumstances of the Injury:

On July 12, while en route to a command post (CP) of one of the units, something exploded in front of the vehicle. The car veered off the road into a ditch, resulting in a broken collarbone.

Diagnosis:

• Closed comminuted fracture of the left clavicle with displacement.
• Concussion.

Details of the injuries:

1. Comminuted fracture of the left clavicle with displacement:
   • A comminuted fracture means the bone is broken into multiple fragments.
   • Displacement indicates that the bone fragments have shifted out of their normal alignment, which can impact the shoulder girdle’s function and cause significant pain.
2. Concussion:
   • A mild traumatic brain injury characterized by temporary disruption of brain functions.
   • Symptoms may include dizziness, nausea, headache, brief loss of consciousness, or short-term memory impairment.

Clinical Plan:

Open reduction and internal fixation with a plate.

   • A surgical procedure where the surgeon repositions the displaced bone fragments through an incision, restoring their correct anatomical alignment.
2. Internal fixation using a plate:
   • A specialized metal plate is used to stabilize the bone fragments, ensuring:
