Circumstances of Injury:

On February 24, 2022, driven solely by a desire to protect his country, a volunteer with no prior military experience reported to the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center. By the next day, he was enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since then, he has served with dedication and a willingness to assist his comrades in even the most challenging circumstances.

On November 10, 2023, near Klishchiivka, while carrying out a combat mission, he sustained an injury. Despite the trauma, he heroically continued his task of evacuating a wounded comrade from the battlefield.

Diagnosis:

Traumatic injury to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) of the right knee joint.

The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is a critical stabilizer of the knee joint. Traumatic damage to the ACL typically occurs due to a sharp twist, excessive load, fall, or direct impact on the knee. Such an injury compromises the stability of the knee joint, hinders movement, and reduces its functionality.

Clinical Solution:

Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction (ACL Reconstruction).

ACL reconstruction is a surgical procedure designed to restore the functionality of the damaged ligament by replacing it with a graft. The operation aims to:

• Restore knee stability.
• Ensure full functionality of the joint.
• Prevent further complications, such as joint instability or cartilage damage.

This procedure provides the best chance for the injured individual to regain mobility and return to an active lifestyle.
