Circumstances of the Injury:

On May 14, 2024, during a nighttime repositioning mission, Serhii found himself in a dangerous situation as an enemy drone targeted him. The intense conditions resulted in significant trauma to his knee.

Diagnosis:

• Enthesopathy of the Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL) of the Left Knee Joint
• Chronic Injury of the Medial Meniscus About the Injury:
  1. Enthesopathy of the Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL):
     • A condition involving inflammation or degeneration at the point where the ligament attaches to the bone.
     • Causes significant pain, instability, and restricted movement in the knee.
  2. Chronic Injury to the Medial Meniscus:
     • Damage to the shock-absorbing cartilage inside the knee joint, often due to repetitive stress or untreated prior injuries.
     • Results in persistent pain, swelling, and mechanical instability of the knee.

Clinical Solution:

Arthroscopy with Reconstruction of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL):

1. Arthroscopy:
   • A minimally invasive surgical procedure performed through small incisions.
   • Allows for a detailed examination and precise repair of internal knee structures, including the meniscus and ligaments.
2. Partial Meniscectomy or Repair:
   • Removal or suturing of damaged portions of the medial meniscus to restore joint function and prevent further degeneration.
3. ACL Reconstruction:
   • A surgical repair of the anterior cruciate ligament using a graft (autograft or allograft).
   • The procedure restores knee stability, enabling proper function and movement while reducing the risk of future injuries.
