What happened

His decision to join the defense of Ukraine was conscious and courageous.

On March 14, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission near
Luhivka, Sumy region, the enemy launched a artillery strike.

At that moment, he was in the tank commander’s position, with the crew ready to move out.

Suddenly, the shelling began.

One of the shells exploded just a few meters from the tank.

He managed to climb into the turret, but as he was closing the hatch — a fragment struck his arm.

Bone, artery, nerves — all were damaged at once.

His arm stopped working.

Despite this, he remained conscious and made his way out of the danger zone.

He tried to apply a tourniquet himself, but the blood loss left him too weak.

Ahead lay over 200 meters of open ground under fire.

And he walked those 200 meters.

He reached his comrades, who:

• secured the tourniquet
• provided first aid
• called for evacuation

This fear is especially painful because his younger brother already lost his right arm in 2022 on the frontlines.

Injury consequences

The explosion caused a blast injury affecting multiple body systems at once.

• Traumatic brain injury
• Hearing damage (acousto-trauma)
• Multiple shrapnel wounds on both arms
• Fracture of the right ulna

In simple terms — his head, hearing, and both arms were affected.

The most critical — the right arm, which is now being treated.

What he needs now

The treatment is complex and multi-stage.

In the first stage, doctors will perform surgery, which may require:

• fixation plates
• temporary implants (spacers)

This means only one thing:

the treatment must be fully funded in advance.

So the doctors can act without limits and save the arm.
