Circumstances of Injury:

“While carrying out combat duties in a trench, during an artillery attack, I jumped to cover myself from the shelling and fell. I couldn’t get back up and immediately felt a crunch and severe pain in my right leg, around the knee area.

I didn’t understand what had happened right away, and initially didn’t feel the pain. But when I looked at my knee, I saw the injured joint, grazed skin, torn trousers, and heard the crunching sound.”

Diagnosis:

Traumatic injury to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) of the right knee joint.
