Circumstances of the Injury:

On March 10, 2024, around 10:00 PM, Andrii was in a dugout preparing for a relocation planned for the next day when enemy fire suddenly began. During the shelling, he sustained a gunshot wound. Despite the danger, a comrade quickly came to his aid, applied a tourniquet, and stabilized his condition. Within five minutes, Andrii was evacuated to a medical post and then transferred to Kharkiv for further treatment.

Diagnosis:

Gunshot injury to the left foot (March 10, 2024):

• Comminuted fractures of the calcaneus (heel bone) and talus (ankle bone):
  • These critical bones, responsible for foot stability and weight support, were shattered into multiple fragments.
• Significant bone tissue loss:
  • The injury caused substantial loss of bone mass, making natural healing difficult and requiring surgical intervention.

This condition severely affects the function of the foot, requiring complex surgery to stabilize the fragments and reconstruct the bone defect.

This surgical procedure aims to restore the lost portion of the bone using specialized materials or grafts. The process includes:
