Circumstances of the Injury

February 13, 2025, while positioned in the Donetsk region, the unit was carrying out reconnaissance tasks using UAVs.

After being detected, the enemy launched sustained artillery fire and FPV drone attacks. While attempting to relocate and evacuate equipment, the vehicle was hit by a munition dropped from a drone.

As a result of the explosion, he sustained a severe injury — his right foot was critically damaged. Despite the shock, he continued helping his comrades: applying tourniquets, coordinating actions, and waiting for evacuation.

The evacuation took place under extremely difficult conditions, with a constant threat of repeated attacks. After stabilization, he was transported to a medical facility in Dnipro.

Medical Diagnosis

Blast injury with shrapnel wounds to the right foot, multiple fractures, and a significant defect of both bone and soft tissues.

After several stages of surgery, scar tissue has formed, but a bone defect remains along with retained fragments in the soft tissues.

The foot has been so severely damaged that part of the bone is missing, and the surrounding tissues require reconstruction. This causes persistent pain and makes it difficult to bear weight on the leg.
