Circumstances of the Injury
June 23, 2026, while positioned in Kostyantynivka, the unit came under a KAB-250 strike.
He has been serving since 2023 with the 3rd Border Guard Detachment, 2nd Rapid Response Unit, carrying out combat missions on the Kramatorsk front.
After the explosion, he did not immediately realize how severe the injury was — he had suffered a concussion. A fellow serviceman evacuated him in time to a safer location, where first aid was provided.
The most severe damage was to his right arm in the shoulder area. Without proper treatment, there is a real risk of losing its function.
Doctors have already determined a treatment plan that offers a chance to save the arm and restore movement.
Diagnosis
Post-traumatic avascular necrosis of the head of the right humerus means that due to the injury, the blood supply to the bone was disrupted. As a result, the bone tissue gradually deteriorates and loses its structure.
Combined contracture of the shoulder joint means the arm is severely restricted in movement — it is difficult to lift, extend, or rotate. Movement is painful and limited.
In simple terms: the joint is so damaged that it can no longer function properly. Without surgery, the arm will progressively lose its ability to move.
