Circumstances of the Injury:

While retreating from their position, Mykhailo and his unit came under mortar fire. One of the shells exploded near him, causing severe injuries.

Diagnosis:

• Soft tissue contusion of the left knee joint (March 7, 2024).
• Damage to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) of the left knee.
• Medial meniscus tear (Stoller Grade III).
• Chondromalacia (Grade I-II).
• Trabecular edema of the left tibial epiphysis.
• Synovitis.
• Temporary impairment of left leg function.
• Persistent pain syndrome.

Clinical Decision:

Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Reconstruction.

This surgical procedure aims to restore the integrity of the ACL, a critical ligament responsible for stabilizing the knee joint during movement.
