After an FPV drone explosion, Petro lost the function of his arm. Today, there is a chance to restore it

Petro is a volunteer who has been serving since the first days of the full-scale war.
On June 10, 2025, at 04:30, he and his fellow soldiers were stationed at a remote observation point. The enemy attacked from two directions and actively used FPV drones.
One of the explosions occurred nearby — Petro sustained a shrapnel wound. In that battle, one of his comrades was killed and another was wounded.
At the moment of injury, there was no panic — only a clear understanding of the situation. His arm was unnaturally twisted and had completely lost sensation.
The joint and part of the bone are effectively destroyed
Petro sustained a complex shrapnel injury to his right shoulder with a comminuted fracture and a significant bone defect.

During surgery, doctors cleaned the wound and placed a special antibiotic-loaded cement spacer — a temporary solution that:
- protects against infection
- maintains the shape of the joint
- prepares the arm for the next stage of treatment

The next stage of treatment is shoulder joint replacement.
the damaged joint is replaced with an artificial implant, allowing movement and function to be restored.
This is the only way to regain control of the arm, reduce pain, and restore the ability to perform everyday activities independently.
Recovery will require time and rehabilitation, but this step opens the path toward regaining function.
